'Thanks for checking out my site! Here you'll find examples of my work and get to know more about my art and tattoos.
I finished a traditional style tattoo apprenticeship at Flats Tattooing in Groton, CT, starting in the summer of 2001. From a young age I've been interested in drawing and painting, and always knew i wanted to pursue a career in art. it was my first visit to a tattoo shop in the spring of 1998 when i realized i had to learn tattooing, and there was not really anything else that would compare to this desire. I spent free time at the library reading their collection of art books and studying in my own way. It was difficult at first to find an opportunity to be taught, but with perseverance and determination I landed the apprenticeship at a busy street shop. The volume of tattoo work lead me to become well versed in many different styles. On the east coast I've worked in Connecticut and Florida where i did a lot of painterly color work, but after relocating to San Diego in 2011 i started to focus more on black and gray tattooing. I've always been drawn to a realistic style, but I prefer to give my art a more expressive feel.
I still spend a lot of time drawing and painting on the side from tattoo, as it's my true passion that never gets old. its exciting to help a client turn their vision into reality. Tattooing permanently changed my life, and I'm still amazed at what this art form is capable of both physically and mentally. Having a tattoo that expresses who you are has a great trans-formative power, and can inspire you to have a new view of your life and the world around you.
